Description

Product Overview

The Red Devil 4713 3 inch plastic putty knife is a purpose‑built tool that combines the trusted Red Devil brand reputation with a lightweight, flexible blade designed for precision work. Constructed from a high‑quality plastic blend, the blade offers a smooth, plain edge that spreads and scrapes putty, spackle, and filler without tearing or leaving unwanted marks. The handle is molded from the same durable plastic, providing a comfortable grip that reduces hand fatigue during extended use. With a brushed finish, the tool resists fingerprints and minor scratches, maintaining a professional appearance even after repeated projects. Its compact 3 inch size makes it ideal for tight spaces, while the rectangular shape ensures even pressure distribution across the surface.

Key specifications include a product dimension of 0.17″ L x 3″ W, a weight of just 0.04 pounds (0.64 ounces), and a single‑piece construction that eliminates the need for assembly. The Red Devil 4713 carries the manufacturer’s warranty, reinforcing confidence in its durability and performance. Whether you are a seasoned contractor or a weekend DIYer, this putty knife delivers the balance of flexibility and strength required for flawless wall repair, woodworking, and other finishing tasks.

Usage

This putty knife excels in a variety of real‑world scenarios. For interior wall repair, the flexible blade easily spreads joint compound into cracks, seams, and nail holes, creating a seamless surface ready for sanding and painting. In woodworking, the tool can be used to apply wood filler, remove excess glue, or gently shape soft materials without damaging delicate edges. Its lightweight nature makes it perfect for overhead work, such as ceiling repairs, where a heavier metal knife would cause strain. The hand‑powered design means no batteries or cords are required, allowing you to work anywhere, from a cramped basement to a bright outdoor workshop.

Because the blade is made from solvent‑resistant plastic, it can handle a range of fillers, including water‑based, oil‑based, and latex compounds. The tool’s disposable, stamped construction ensures consistent quality from one unit to the next, making it a cost‑effective choice for professionals who need to keep a stock of reliable knives on hand. Its solid red color provides high visibility in a busy work environment, reducing the chance of misplacement.
